Import photos
In order to start using Phototheca, organize all your images, and unleash the power of the app, you need to import all of your photos and videos into Phototheca first.
Import photos from storage devices
At this moment you probably have a huge photo collection on one or several drives. It’s time to get them into Phototheca.
Import from network shares
To import photos from a network share, just browse into the Network icon, find the network share there, and proceed as usual – simply select folders or images to import and hit the button.
Import from memory cards (removable media)
Phototheca can import photos and videos from various removable sources:
Import from phones, tablets
Phototheca supports import from phones and tablets by default, so no special steps are needed. Just connect your device and proceed with the import as usual.
Import from iOS devices
Phototheca supports import from iOS devices, iPhones and iPads. However, there are a few prerequisites necessary in order to successfully import photos:
Track for new images
Phototheca has the ability to track changes in folders that were imported into the Library earlier.
Auto updates of photos
If you edit or change a photo with external software, and this photo is present in the Library, then Phototheca can understand that you’ve made a change and will update that photo automatically, in a seamless way. Phototheca updates the thumbnail and metadata section of a photo, so all visual changes or changes to keywords are reflected in Phototheca immediately.
