Library overview
The Library in Phototheca consists of a few sections with a number of items inside them.
Events
This is the single place where all Events reside. Basically, there is no other place where we can see Events, except for the Search Results view. All Events are sorted in chronological order by default. By moving the mouse cursor over an Event, we can see photos that are inside without actually opening the Event itself.
Photos
Photos view shows absolutely every photo across the entire Library, grouped as Events and Albums. Every Event and Album appears here as a bar, with a cover, title, and date on the left side and the number of photos on the right side.
Calendar
This is Calendar view, which maps all photos to the calendar grid.
Protected
This section contains password-protected safe-boxes. Phototheca has the feature to put any part of the Library into a password-protected safe-box and these are all listed here.
Duplicates
In this section, you can find all the duplicates that are present in the Library and deal with them.
Last Import
This section shows what was imported most recently.
Last N Months
This section shows photos of the last N months.
Flagged
This section contains photos and videos that were marked with a flag. This is like temporary storage for multiple items that will later be used for bulk operations. There are various ways to use flagged photos.
Trash Can
This is just a regular Trash Can (Recycle Bin). It works almost the same as Windows Recycle Bin but inside Phototheca.
Albums
The Albums section holds all user-created Albums and Folders. This is the root of Phototheca’s organizational hierarchy. While all Events are in the Events section, all Albums and Folders go inside this one. Besides the Albums and Folders, this section has the built-in subfolder “Media Types.”
Folders
This section shows folders of local drives, where all imported photos are located. Don’t confuse this with Folders that are organizational units, as described here Folders – they are very different.
Web
This section contains subsections with social networks and holds all Albums that have been shared there.
