Organize Library
The organization is the key to a terrific, well-structured photo collection. Having hundreds of thousands of photos means it’s very easy to get lost in files and folders, and duplicates are often scattered among multiple hard drives.
Organize Events
Events are the entry point for how photos get into Phototheca. When you import images and videos, they are immediately arranged into groups and appear as Events in the Library. Phototheca can combine multiple images into a single Event in a few different ways. Have a look at the topic Events creation strategy for details on how images from disks are composed into Events.
Organize Albums
An Album is an organizational unit that holds multiple photos. The difference between Album and Event is more about the purpose of usage. Albums are intended to keep images of a specific topic that is not a life event. For instance, you may want to collect all photos of your pet in one place, but still, have them in Events. This could be achieved with Albums.
Organize Folders
Folders are organizational units that can hold Albums or other Folders inside. Folders in Phototheca are almost the same as regular folders in Windows, with the exception that they don’t hold images inside, only Albums.
Flagged photos
Any photo in Phototheca can be marked with a flag. To mark a single photo or multiple photos with a flag, select the photos and hit the “Flag” button on the toolbar.

Work with metadata
Metadata is a cornerstone of a terrific photo library. Metadata describes the condition of a shot and contains a lot of information about the photo. Taking the correct approach to metadata is the key to success with photo management and organization.
Rate photos
With Phototheca you can rate photos with stars. The scale is from zero to five stars.
Covers
For Library items in Phototheca that contain multiple photos inside, users can set a cover image – a photo that will be displayed as the cover of an item. You may want to set a distinctive and impressive image as the cover for Events and Albums to get a more brilliant and attractive look for the whole Library.
